We were asked to design and build a shelter for Knebworth Park to complement their refurbished tennis court.
The brief was to build a tennis shelter with features of a swiss chalet in memory of Anthony Viscount Knebworth (1903 - 1933), who was MP for North Hertfordshire and an accomplished RAF pilot, skier and tennis player.
We used traditional methods to handmake this structure. With mortice and tenoon joints and hand made oak shingles,it was a real labour of love. We also bui;t accompanying flowerbeds and fence to compliment the shelter and link the surrounding landscape to the structure.
This stands in the gardens at Knebworth House as a small tranquil structure to shelter from the sun and rain.
"The shelter, fence and landscaped surround are a huge improvement and benefit to the gardens – we are delighted to have it and appreciate your help in designing and executing the project."
