We were tasked to carry out a full renovation on a basement flat in London using reclaimed materials wherever possible.
The final finish was to be true to the materials so that he original purpose formed part of its aesthetic interest and it was able to tell a story
The client sourced the items from various salvage dealers and outlets and we had the challenge of repuposing them for a new life.
This included:
- french partio doors as show cupboard doors
- salvaged and reconditioned cast iron radiators
- old fire place as cooker hood
- lined handpainted pewter church organ pipes as extractor flue
- printed stage platform with mirrors as wardrobe doors
- old gym floor as kitchen cupboard fronts
- old railway signage board as overhead unit frontage
- old school laboratory workbench as kitchen worktop
